Find the responsible organisation
Read the privacy notice to identify the controller, who decides why and how data is used. Asking the wrong person may delay clarification.
Ask for what you need
You may request information and, where the conditions apply, access, correction or other rights. Erasure is not absolute: retention duties or other lawful reasons may limit it.
Be specific
Describe your relationship with the organisation and the problem. Provide only what is needed for appropriate identification. Keep the request, delivery evidence and reply.
An imagined example
A company keeps using an old address after you reported the error. Identify the entry to correct and include your earlier message to explain the problem.
If the reply does not help
Consider its reasons and any identity checks needed. Unlawful processing or no reply within the required time may lead to remedies, including a complaint to the Italian Garante or court action. Do not post personal documents online to prove your point: that could expose more data.
